Pre-K Field Trip

This last week the twins Mother's Day Out program at our church celebrated with a Pre-K field trip to the Dallas Zoo. This is the annual day for the Pre-Kers to be honored with a day of fun away from school. The day started with a caravan in our suburban with the boys girl-friends Lilly Kate and Isabella. If they were both married already those would be "The Girls." Needless to say the day was a blast and very tiring!

It is so hard to believe you two are 5 years old. I never thought I would have you guys and then much less survive getting to this age. I can't believe you will be leaving me full-time after this summer. One minute I think I am ready for this adventure and the next I just want to sit down and cry. I know you are totally ready to venture off and make new friends...how exciting! Preston you know half of your upper/lower case letters and are doing pretty good with recognizing your numbers. You are a little sponge ready to soak it all in. In fact tonight you informed me you had a big brain and that you could concentrate...love you:) Grant you are ready to socialize, but not quite ready to learn...yet. I have no doubt your kindergarten teacher will whip you into shape and I will be hear to help you in your journey. I can't wait to hear all about your new school and how much fun you're having. I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!

I Like To Move It

"I Like To Move It" was the title of Connor's 2nd grade P.E. program this spring. The kids showed us some of their favorite things to do while they participate in gym time. The entire second grade class was split into small groups and did a demonstration of events. Connor was chosen to play hockey. The kids sat on seats that had wheels under them and wheeled around trying to make a goal. They had a lot of fun showing off. After watching them play we walked around the school and saw art projects made by all the students from K-5th grades.

The kids all took clay and molded little bowls that they painted in art class. He put a cross in the bottom of his bowl for Jesus!

This is Connor's poster board of art drawings he made during the year. The bottom center pic is a self drawing...it was pretty darn good in comparison to a lot of the second grade drawings.

Registering for Kindergarten

It's official...we have two kindergartners for the 2010-2011 school year. The twins were coloring a pic while I was getting their paperwork processed so that they are officially enrolled. They are beyond excited about going to school where Connor goes. We went to KinderKamp which was a night program that introduced the parents to what they will be learning in Kindergarten. The kids left us during the meeting and went to an actual Kindergarten class so they could explore. Hopefully, this will prevent us from having any major breakdowns the first day of school. More to come in August!

Rockies

After watching years of big brother playing baseball the time has come for the twins to play. They have been waiting for this moment forever...or 5 years:) They still have tons to learn, but it is all about having fun and trying not to let their team down. Grant is playing right field and Preston is playing left center field. Obviously as the youngest players on their team they have been put in the outfield, but separated so that no bickering over the ball takes place. They lost their first game by one point, but they both had the chance to score their first runs ever! This may be their first and for some their last season...we will have to see.

Good Game Good Game

Red Sox

Connor's baseball team this season is the "Red Sox". This was the first game of the season and they won. We moved from playing in Midlothian to driving a little ways down the road to Waxahachie and it has been well worth the money. The fields are awesome, they have a working scoreboard, and even have real umpires...what else could you ask for:)

The Cousins Meet Jake

The day after Jake was born I ventured off to the hospital with all the boys. They were oh so excited about getting to see and hold him. We had a long talk about hospital etiquette in the car so that no one would get in trouble. After meeting Jake I took them down the hall to the NICU where I work and let them take a peek at a little baby. The twins have never seen where mommy works so that was special and to top off the cake they got to meet the previous medical director, Dr. Whitfield. For me that was icing on the cake because he is like my hospital dad.

The twins kept asking around the time of Jake's birth when we were going to have another baby. They told me they really wanted to be big brothers too. I told them if they wanted a baby we would just have to borrow Aunt Shelley's babies because there weren't going to be any more babies at our house!

Jake Ryan Jackson

Welcome the newest cousin, Jake Ryan Jackson. We have been waiting on him for 9 long months. We have felt him kick and heard all the stories about long nights and heartburn and now we finally get to meet and hold him. He was born by c-section on April 9th and weighed 8lbs 5 oz. I got the privilege of being in on the delivery once again. It is so hard to be so excited watching him come out as you video tape and trying to watch it in real life so you don't miss it all. Jeremy sat with Shelley and then took pics after Jake was born and then went to update the family. I then got to sit and hold Jake for almost an hour while Shelley had hernia surgery. The funny thing is while I was loving on my newest little man all of the sudden you could hear snoring and I would look down and she had dozed off. She ended up startling herself and we all got tickled...good times:) Jax met Jake later in the afternoon and all he wanted to do was barely peek at him and then stay far far away. I think within a week everything was "normal" at home for him. So I guess it is official...the Allsbrooks' grandchild count is 5 boys 0 girls...hehehe!

A Visit To The Dallas Zoo

About a month ago the twins and I went with Aunt Shelley and Jax to the Dallas Zoo. This happened to be the week before the newest little cousin joined the family. Shelley was trying to spend some special time with Jax and so we joined in on the fun. All three boys had fun together seeing the animals, but Shelley on the other hand was carrying a very protruding Jake belly and pushing Jax in his big stroller up and down the rolling hills of the zoo.
