Poor Poor Connor

Poor Poor Connor asked THE QUESTION..."Are you and dad Santa"...right in front of the twins! I quickly told him to leave the room as they were all trying to go to bed and rushed him to our bedroom where Doug was and we had THE TALK! He said everyone at school was saying that Santa just wasn't real and so we asked him if he really really wanted to know the truth. He looked at me with poor pitiful puppy dog eyes and said, "Yes." I said "Daddy and I are Santa and give you all the gifts that you receive." He fell over into my lap and cried his poor eyes out for over 5 long agonizing minutes. It wasn't just a little crying, but the gasping kind of crying. My heart ached for my little man, but I know we made the right decision. He is in the 3rd grade and I most certainly didn't want him to be made fun of. I told him he had to keep our secret though because it just wouldn't be fair for the twins to find out in Kindergarten. That this was a fun game and is suppose to be special. He then looked at Doug and I and said, "Now I know why daddy's breath is always minty on Christmas Day...because he eats all the cookies and drinks the milk"...then he busted out laughing while tears were still falling from his sweet innocent face. In the days to come he continued to play along very well and even made some of our stories about Santa as we talked to the twins even sound pretty darn good. He would even wink at me while we were telling stories like we had a very special SECRET! What a sweet big brother he is!!!

Kearney Christmas

We spent the Sunday after Christmas this year with mom's extended family. You can't have Christmas with Grandmother without her annual bow in her hair...so cute! Connor is finally old enough that he was asked to help Grandmother be Santa and pass out gifts to everyone. We had fun eating and hanging out with family for a bit before returning home to rest and get ready for another busy week.

Santa Grandmother and Connor

Grant was so happy when he got his very own flashlight.

Preston with the star wars figurines that he and Grant received from Aunt Charlotte and Uncle Kerry.

Every year Dad gets Aunt Charlotte something funny to put in her house and she always LOVES her funky gifts. This year she got a mannequin that dad outfitted in underwear from Ross. Needless to say Jax just didn't get why there was a statue in the middle of the living room. He was bent over and looking at it from every angle...we were crying!

Connor and Uncle Kerry with a dozen eggs from the farm:)

Grandmother and the boys:)

Christmas Day With Honey and Papa

We continued Christmas Day with our annual tradition of going to Honey and Papa's house to spend the day. We met at 9:30am for a huge yummy breakfast spread and then ended with fajitas for dinner. Aunt Shelley, Uncle Jeremy and the boys were there to share in the fun! Honey and Papa out did themselves as always. The boys received more Legos of which they asked for and Doug received a pretty neat tool box and small trailer attachment for the vehicles. I am beyond excited about what everyone pitched in and got me...laser hair removal for my lip...YIPPEE! I know that may seem pretty stupid, but I don't want to be 60+ with a full out mustache:)
Shelley and sweet Jake

Papa bought bags for the boys to take their presents home with and return for next years use. Grant got wrapped up by Papa.

Connor with another new DS game.

Preston with new Legos.

Connor waiting for his HUGE surprise!

That's right...a new mini-bike from Papa!

Watch out for your grass, cars, or anything in Connor's way!

It's going to be hard to top this gift next year:)

Honey and the boys were playing an alligator chomping game while enjoying cocoa.

The twins decorating their gingerbread house.

The twins' house...boy was that a lot of sugary stuff!

Connor's cute gingerbread man.

Sweet brothers!

The twins and mom:)

Me explaining something, but just look at Connor's face...that is the look I see on a constant basis at home. The "I didn't do it...I am so innocent" look!!!

Christmas Morning 2010

Christmas morning is always meticulously planned out at our house. Doug and I are always up late putting something together...which always disturbs him that we have waited to the last minute, but makes me laugh hysterically at the way he reacts to the situation. This year was not disappointing to say the least! The boys went to bed around 830pm and but were not asleep until 1130pm after being threatened several times that Santa just might not come! Doug and I had to put together a basketball goal this year and the parts list was not accurately labeled as it stated...let just say that is where I started crying tears of laughter. We finally got everything laid out and off to bed around midnight-ish.
The twins shared stash of gifts.

Connor's gifts

Preston was so excited to see his gifts that he thought Santa left him a plastic tag in his stocking and even smiled about that:)

They always love to look at what each other received.

My dedicated role every year is to video tape and Doug takes the pictures.

Connor received a super duper Nerf gun that shoots an endless stream of bullets...watch out twins!

The twins received scooters so that when it warms up they can walk/scooter to school.

I bought the boys matching PJs this year...so cute.

Awful pic of me but Harley Lou and I had matching green sweaters on:)
