Who Knew You Could Have Such A Good Day At The Arboretum

Today we were able to meet our good friends at the Dallas Arboretum for our annual picture taking extravaganza. Connor is on Spring Break so I was hoping to get a few group shots. You know it just never turns out like you plan when you have three little boys to negotiate around.

Sweet Connor and one of his many flowers he collected along the way.

Our boys with their friend, Owen, checking out lady bugs on Connor.

While we were taking pics of the kids an entourage came through and low and behold it was...
LAURA BUSH!!!
(She is the one in the back of this pic with black pants and aqua top)

Rachel had a great idea to buy these huge lollipops at Walmart and pose with the flowers.
The Arboretum had decorated one of the kids houses with lollipops so it was a perfect scene.

It takes a little man to LOVE Pink!

"I Am A Christian"

Connor has finished taking the "I Am A Christian" class at church somewhat recently. This last Sunday he was recognized in the Sunday morning church service for what he has accomplished. We are so proud of him and hopefully sometime soon he will be baptized. The pic of him by himself was taken just after he was asked, "Where is a place you can worship Jesus" and his answer was "Under a tree."

What A Wonderful Day

We were so excited to have such a wonderful spring like day yesterday. The boys and I decided we couldn't stay couped up in the house all day. As soon as Connor went off to school and we were dressed we set off to tricycling around the neighborhood.

The sun was so bright we had to pull out the trusty red sunglasses to go for our ride:)

This pic was taken about the time we were 3/4 into our walk/ride. They were exhausted, but I told them I was not about to carry 2 bikes and kids home. They eventually regained some strength because "it was on" as to see who was going to be the line leader getting home.

On our journey, there were roley-poleys everywhere. Preston finally decided he wanted to touch one.

At the end of the day as the sun was going down and we were waiting on Daddy to get home we went back outside. We played with the dogs, played on the fort, laid on the hill in the backyard, and even rolled down the hill till we were covered in grass. What a day!

My Lil' Pirate

I bought the sign below for the boys' birthday party. While I was at work several weeks ago, Preston continued to read the sign to Doug all day long repeating the same thing over and over. As soon as I walked in the door Doug told me to check out our lil' reader.

Preston says, "Dear Preston and Grantsters...We're gonna have a birthday party."
Every time he says the same thing with the same exact look on his face. He has us cracking up every time he says it!

Just so you don't miss out on the past few weeks, I have finally caught up. Check out these blog posts.

Party Time

Finally, the big day had arrived! The boys' friends had arrived one by one and were ready to celebrate the birth of the twins. A day their mom will surely never forget:) The twins insisted that they have a Pirate Diego party. I guess that I should be thankful I made it three years getting to decide the theme before having to incorporate two themes into one party. I actually found a cute clip-art pic of Diego dressed like a pirate for their invites. As far as decorating, we did half pirates and half Diego. It all turned out pretty darn cute if I say so myself.

Friends eating hot dogs.

The birthday boys with the Halpin boys:)

Cousin Garin decided to start opening presents when no one was looking.
(Actually, I was paying attention so I took a picture and just laughed)

Cupcakes made with Diego cupcake holders and handmade pirate toppers.

My favorite pic...everyone singing to the boys!

Blowing out the 8 candles...

Cousin Jax thought the cupcakes were excellent:)

Opening presents...

Grant was about to explode with excitement in this pic because Honey and Papa gave the boys a Diego dinosaur rock toy...they play with it from the moment they literally wake up till they go to bed every night.

Papa and Daddy rigging the pinata from the ceiling of the game room.

Grant wondering if their ready yet...

Finally, Grantsters gets the first hit.

Several of our friends watching in anticipation of the candy frenzy.

Preston's turn...

The real baseball player's turn...Connor

Get it quick or it will be all gone.

Grant selectively picked all GREEN candy.
Is it really all gone?

Thanks to all our friends for making it such a wonderful day!

It's My Birthday

Today is the twins actual birthday, February 17th. We started off the day with the tastiest of treats...donuts. Connor was off to school after breakfast and then the twins got ready and went to school.

Grant was grumpy as we were preparing to leave for school.
He wasn't going to show his face for the camera. Such a sweet Preston.

Now he is really upset with me and intentionally hiding.
