I have always wanted to take the boys to the circus, but never wanted to spend the money to do so. We were so lucky to be invited by our dear friends from church to join in on a trip to the Ringling Brother circus with the daycare group that the mom runs. They have a 2nd grade girl that my boys simple adore and love to hang out with so without hesitation I accepted the invite. We picked the mom and daughter up and met the daycare at the American Airlines Center. We had wonderful seats and had a grand time. Thanks again to the Burgess' for a wonderful time!

A Visit With Grandpa Black

Grandpa Black came down for a visit from Oklahoma...the boys old stoppin' grounds. All of the aunts, uncles, and cousins went to Saginaw to Uncle Russell and Aunt Laurie's house to spend the day hanging out and playing. We always have a fabulous time getting together. We all arrived for lunch to enjoy sandwiches and dips and then the kids were off to terrorize the house and the adults sat around talking and some played dominoes. We had a great time to say the least and then went out for Mexican food for dinner and went on our separate ways.

Silly Boys for Silly Bands

Little did I know that there was this new fashion craze amongst little kids until we saw Ms. Rachel and the boys this summer. That is when we were first introduced to silly bands. The twins thought these elastic bands in fun shapes were the most amazing things since sliced bread. On the next trip to Walmart we searched the bracelets out and bought a couple of packages to satisfy the boys. I was so thankful they were only $1/12 bands ...not a bad deal to make a couple of little boys happy. Who would have thought?

Precious Preston

Preston is the most loving person I think that I have ever known. His heart's desire is to make sure every feels his love! He for months and months had tried to kiss and hug Grant goodnight and Grant is not the touchy feely boy. This has brought on many goodnight fights to say the least. Grant has finally learned to just give in and allow Preston a kiss on the cheek and he'll back off. This particular pic was taken after Grant had fallen asleep on the couch and Preston moved in for the killer kiss and hug. Tell me...who could deny a face like that!

Happy Birthday Doug

This summer Doug celebrated his 38th birthday...I can't believe he is so close to the big 4-0! He was actually gone for two full weeks with his birthday sandwiched right in between. He seemed fine with that, but the boys and I were very sad to say the least. He arrived home late on a Friday night and the very next morning we had a couples shower at church that we helped to host. After the shower was over his hunting buddies from church came out to the car and watched as he received his gift from us...a hunting bow! He had been shopping for one while out of town and the same time I had already been to Bass Pro Shop and bought one with the help of his friend. His friend, Jason, helped me out and also stalled Doug from buying one out of town by telling him he had found a great deal at a pawn shop in Dallas and so don't buy anything while your gone...there was so much lying and laughing going on and Doug didn't have a clue!

We also had a surprise birthday party for Doug on Sunday afternoon. The boys did so well keeping our secret! We put the candles backwards as a joke.

My mom and dad even went to Dallas and picked up my sweet Grandmother so that she could be a part of the festivities:)

In fact, he sat there for at least 20 minutes meticulously eating them and looking up at the table full of people watching him as if to make sure it was okay to take just one more. He had us in stitches with his mischievous looks!

A Day With The Jackson Cousins

We always enjoy having Jax and Jake over to play! Jax usually comes in and says hi and then we don't see him for hours because he darts straight for Preston's bunk bed and doesn't come down until lunch:) The boys always go in and play with him as much as he will let them.

Incredible Pizza Company

I know many people have been requesting that I play catch up with my blog, but it has been impossible to do. I have had a virus on my computer so for my birthday we got a laptop and I have finally been able to transfer all my pics to my new computer and can now play:)

This first post is from mid-summer when the boys and I went with the children's group from church to Incredible Pizza Company in Euless. We rode the church vans to Euless and then unloaded for a few hours of fun. We first ate pizza and then played video games, rode bumper cars, went bowling, played golf, and also drove race cars...which was the highlight of the trip!
