2nd Grade Awards Program

The day before school was out the school held an awards program for the second grade class. I went not knowing if Connor would be awarded anything or not, but was pleasantly surprised. He came home with 3 certificates: A/B Honor Roll, Citizenship Award (he had all E's for behavior), and Outstanding Attendance (he missed only 2 days of school all year). The twins went with me to school and had so much fun clapping and yelling for Connor when his name kept getting called. WAY TO GO CONNOR!

Pre-K Graduation

It is so hard to believe that the twins are graduating Pre-K and starting school only a few short months from now. I know it was just yesterday that I found out I was having twins...then two boys...then I had them....RIGHT? We have all survived the last 5 years and so it is time to move on...sniff,sniff. Ms. Keri, our friend and children's minister, put together a terrific time of celebration for the parents. The Pre-K class started out the ceremony dressed like cowboys/cowgirls and sang a few songs and then at the end they came back in to the graduation music wearing their caps and gowns. I thought I would cry, but I was so excited for them that it just didn't happen...go me!

They played with their teachers and friends while mom got one last Walmart trip in and then I came back and picked them up. Here the twins are with all their teachers: Ms. Alicia, Ms. Christy, and Ms. Gloria. They will always have a special place in our hearts!

LaRue Miller Field Day 2010

Field Day is always so much fun although a lot has changed since I had field day growing up. We ran all sorts of different races and they promoted competition, but not anymore. The kids play games, bounce in bounce houses, dance, and this year they filled different shaped things with colored sand. Doug was at home working on field day so Grant chose to stay home and Preston wanted to go with me. It's not often I get to spend one on one time with my boys so this was a special treat for Pres and I:)

We arrived and found Connor playing a game where you try and pull the rope and make the other child across from you fall off the square they are standing on. Connor won a few rounds before being pulled off. Connor is on the left playing against his classmate Austin.

Since there are only a few weeks in school left the kids are allowed to turn in their tickets they have earned for being good and buy a treat out of the goodie stash. Connor bought Preston a

yo-yo...the love goes on and on!

On the way out we ran into the PE assistant (we know her from baseball) and she let Preston sneak into the gym while no one was looking. ALL 4 bounce houses were in there all by themselves while the kids were still in their classrooms for lunch. That was one happy little boy. He reported home to Grant that he missed out!

Spash Day Cancelled

Rain was coming and going from one day to the next and so splash day was unfortunately cancelled at Mother's Day Out this year. The Pre-K teachers always make this such a fun going out party for the pre-k kids and so rain or not they were determined to have a lot of fun. They played outside on the new playground and had water guns to squirt each other with. I drove up as they were wrapping up their day with yummy snow cones. I'm pretty sure the teachers enjoyed them as much as the kids:)

Another Arbo Day With Our Buddies

You can never have to many arboretum days I have decided. Every time we go there is something new and exciting going on. This particular time there were houses built out of flowers and outside each house there were snippets of fairy tales that were depicted in the houses. Rachel and I read the stories while the boys all listened in amazement. After reading we let the boys all play in the frog water fountain and then strip down to their shorts and run around so that they would dry off. I think they had more fun running around half dressed than anything...that is a boy for ya!

Mother's Day At The Farm

There are days that I feel like I live with a herd of animals, but for Mother's Day we really went to the farm. The boys always love going to Bonham to my uncle and aunt's house. They have a couple of acres with a restored farmhouse, horses, chickens, dogs, and a trampoline. What more could a little boy want? We got there in time for lunch and left way to late. Connor had school the next day and I don't think he saw his bed until after 10pm, but he woke up a trooper!
