It's Party Time

Who doesn't love a party? Grant and Preston had a hard time trying to understand why their birthday was on one day and they had to wait two days until their party. The much anticipated day finally arrived and boy did Daddy Doug have a surprise for them. They had to help get ready for their friends to come over...by picking up dog poop! You would think it was much worse than what it was! Doug gave them a bucket and shovel and told them to get with it. Some crying and fussing later and the yard was spotless. We had a "Cat and the Hat" party with Thing 1 (Grant) and Thing 2 (Preston). There wasn't much out in the stores to decorate with so I made the cupcakes and the toppers. I think they turned out pretty darn cute:) We rented a bounce house and just let the kids play until their hearts were content. I love laid back parties!

Happy Birthday Grant & Preston

My little boys are not so little anymore:( Today the twins turn 6! I woke them up with birthday singing and they had powdered donuts for breakfast. I then surprised them with birthday ribbons to wear at school so that everyone of their friends knew it was their Big Day. This was the first year the boys each wanted to get their brother a gift...so thoughtful and cute. I took them together to Walmart and made one stand with their back turned while the other picked a gift off the shelf and then vice versa. They got to give each other their gifts as soon as they walked in the door from school...and not one minute to soon. Doug was unfortunately out of town until after they got in bed that night so the 3 boys and I went to Cici's pizza for dinner and they had their favorite Alfredo cheese pizza for dinner.

Look how tall they have gotten this year. Preston is still about 2.5 inches taller than Grant.

Valentine's Day 2011

I so look forward to Valentine's Day each year so that I have another excuse to spoil my boys with an extra special gift! This year I was primed and ready to wake them up for school and have their treats out and ready by their breakfast seats. Well it was a home run for 2/3 of the family...you guess which one I failed on:(

Triple Punch

The boys started Karate in February and LOVE it! This is one of their first lessons before they received their uniforms. They have started as a white belt and will move up as far as they want to...possibly black. They have been warned not to use their new moves at home! Grant has already used a block against Preston to prevent himself from being hit...I just had to laugh behind their backs:)

Time To Do Some Fishing

We have a local Midlothian friend that has access to a 100 acre fishing pond. As long as Charlie, our friend, is free we have access to the best fishing hole in town. We started fishing there this year around February. If the boys get bored fishing then there is always the cows to talk to or the local family dog to chase. The boys always have a blast going out there!

Day 4 and Off To Drink Wine

If you know me at all then you know I hate alcohol. I absolutely can't stand the taste of it. So then you ask why a wine tour? I thought it would be neat to see the vineyards and how they package the wine to sell. It was pretty amazing to see the rolling hills of vineyards and the beautiful houses amongst the hills. We stopped at three vineyards in the Sonoma/Napa Valley area and made a pit stop for lunch at a small little city. We walked the streets and found a park bench to stop and take in the scenery.
