"D" Day...otherwise know as Dentist Day:)

The twins have been so excited to go to the dentist. It helps that we are personal friends with one of the local dentist. We go to church with the dentist also known to the boys as Mr. Brandon or Drew's daddy. When we arrived at the office today Preston got out of the car and said, "He moved!" His response is because we helped his family move this last year and I guess he thought we were going to his house to get their teeth cleaned. We got to the office and the boys walked in and sat down patiently waiting for their names to be called while the office staff came and peeked at how cute they were.

Preston was so excited...

Grant was the first one up in the chair because by this point Preston has flipped a lid and wants no part of talking to Mr. Brandon...

Preston checking out the crime scene from mom's lap...

Mr. Brandon told Preston that mom would leave the room if he didn't cooperate so he FINALLY opened his mouth:)

Somehow Mr. Brandon tricked Preston into laying down and wearing the cool sunglasses...

The best part was holding the "sucker" all by himself.

Grant taking his turn...

They both survived and got to pick out treats from the special drawer:)

Grant will have to go back in a few weeks again and get some holes filled from where his baby teeth have gaps in them, but thank goodness that won't include S-H-O-T-S!!
I SURVIVED!

A Lazy Saturday

Since two of the three kids are recuperating from a bug this week we took it a little slow this weekend. We spent half our Saturday laying around in PJ's watching TV and then finally got around to enjoying the nice day outside.

Preston and Doug (fake) snuggling on the couch...
Surprise...I'm awake making silly faces!

Preston attempting to wear Connor's roller shoes and skate through the house. I ended up holding his hands and he skate-danced with me:)

Poor little sickly Grant fell asleep on the chair:(

Papa and Honey came over for dinner.
Preston and Papa pulled two dead trees up out of our backyard...Papa is our hero!

Community Helper

This last week has been a little crazy. Connor and Grant have both spent days home from school sick...but at different times. Somehow I haven't benefited from Mother's Day Out this week, but it has actually been nice to have one boy at home by themselves getting spoiled. Preston went to school alone on Thursday and came home with a bag of loot from Community Helper Day. He was sooo proud of his constable stickers that he put one on and gave both of his brothers stickers too...he does have a sweet heart:) He also received a camo bandaid that he opened and told me he needed somewhere to put it. He has had a bruise on his forehead for a week now...so it seemed like a logical place to put it. I guess we have a little medical constable on our hands!

Happy Birthday Friend

We had the privilege of celebrating our friend, Owen's, birthday in the last few weeks. Owen was born a month before the twins, but was due about a month after the twins. Owen is my best friend's oldest child and is so special to our family. Owen celebrated his fourth birthday at a bowling alley and the boys had a blast. The twins have never bowled before so this was especially exciting.

The birthday boy

When we arrived we found the birthday boy wearing the same outfit as my crew...that may be because Rachel and I shop together:)

Can't wait till next year!

Our Little Snow Bunny

For two years now we have planned to take Connor skiing and we finally made it happen. Connor has never been flying in an airplane or skiing and he got to do both. The child was so excited as one might expect that we heard for several weeks, "How many more days?" Connor and I were fortunate to be able to fly and only check one bag because Doug met us in Colorado with all our stuff and a car to be able to get around in. As I sit and write this, poor Doug is traveling back to West Texas to work for the week (and stay in a hotel for several more nights...YUCK).

Connor even got excited about little things like...the moving walkway at the airport:)

Walking into an airport for the first time

Eating an early lunch at the airport before spending the next few hours flying...this is also where Connor left his jacket and we didn't realize it until we were on the plane so I darted off the plane and through the airport and back while my baby was left alone on a plane worrying that his mom was going to miss the flight:(

This was right after take off and he didn't quit smiling the entire flight

I don't think I saw the front of his head the entire time he was in the plane

Commuting in a train from the terminal to the baggage pick-up in Denver

Connor insisted he wasn't tired after Day One of skiing, but for some reason he was snoring on our 10 minute ride from the mountain to the hotel.

Day Two...Connor left his gloves in the car overnight and they turned into popsicle sticks...Doug and I held them up to the heat for 10 minutes and they thawed out and were toasty warm:)...Connor learned his lesson!

Ski School

My Two Older Men

We surprised Connor with an hour of tubing on the second day...just in case skiing wasn't his thing, but it turns out he is a pro!

Jewelry Making 101

I have been interested in learning how to make jewelry, but really didn't know where to start. I found out over Christmas that my sister-in-law had recently been taught how to do some basic jewelry making. She taught me how to use crimp beads and how to put a clasp on the end of wire. After sharing this new information with my mother, she bought me a sack full of jewelry stuff for Christmas. Here are a few things I have already put together.

I made this bracelet for my mother.

I made these blue earrings to wear with my blue scrubs at work.

I needed a new black necklace that I can string different dropped decorative things off of and made earrings with zebra print to match.

I made this necklace with the remaining zebra jewels, but it came out more like a choker...I am going to restring it on a longer line.
MORE TO COME!!

Christmas- Part Four

Our final Christmas outing was this last Sunday as we spent time at my maternal grandparent's house. We had fun sharing gifts with the youngest kids and my grandparents. We have an annual Christmas tradition of eating chili and leftovers from other get-togethers. After we ate and opened gifts we watched the Cowboys get tromped on this year...not very fun.

Grant was so excited that he had more than one present to open up:)

Jax attempting to open a present.

Preston with his two new horses.

Grandmother and Grandbuddy gave Connor a robe which he has slept in every night since receiving it.

We gave Grandmother and Grandbuddy John 3:16 typed out in the shape of a cross with their last name listed in the verse...by the tears you can assume she loved it!
