I was doing laundry this particular morning around 10am and heard a noise from the kitchen. I peeked my head around the corner and there stood Grant on a chair. The toaster was plugged in and he had waffles out of the freezer cooking them. I guess the kid was hungry for breakfast...AGAIN! It is amazing what 5 year olds can do if they want to.

Dallas Blooms At The Arboretum

Every year we go on a few outings to the Dallas Arboretum with our best buddies, the Halpins. Unfortunately due to the cold and snowy weather we have only visited once thus far. We had a wonderful time and got some great shots with the new camera. The boys always have so much fun together.

Easter 2010 With The Blacks

Sunday late afternoon we went to Crandall to Uncle Philip's house to celebrate. The kids all had a blast together. It is so nice to have so many kids that are all the same ages to play with. You never once have to worry about someone being left out...you more have to worry if someone is going to get hurt playing to hard:)

Easter 2010 At Home and Grandmother's House

Easter morning we woke up to the kids running into the living room to find their baskets...always an exciting time. The boys were all very excited to see what they received from the bunny, but have come to realize that they aren't getting into the baskets until everyone is dressed for church and pictures have been taken. We rushed around like crazy people getting ready and pics taken and quickly got a little treat before we were off to church. After church we went to Grandmother's house to have lunch and let the kids Easter egg hunt with the Kearney clan. This was little Jax first hunt so it was especially exciting. He decided after about 8 pieces of candy he was done and promptly went back in the house...he was cracking us up. After stopping to assess what was in everyone's baskets and a little cleaning up we then left mid-afternoon for Doug's brother's house in Crandall for round two.

Even at 8 years old he gets excited to see what he got:)

After Easter was over this year Connor finally asked the awful question I have been dreading. "Mom everyone at school says the Easter bunny and Santa are not real...are they?" I asked him what he thought and that was the end of the conversation...as if to say he really didn't know. I hate this...maybe we will make it one more holiday before our cover is totally blown!

The Family Plumber To The Rescue

I may have never had a brother, but I inherited two when I married Doug. Doug and I dated for four years before getting married which now totals to almost 17 years together...WOW! Philip and Russell have almost been great brother-in-laws to me and I wouldn't trade them for the world:) This particular day Russell dropped in for a visit and ended up doing work around my house. At Christmas while Doug's family was there my sink faucet was leaking and ended up falling apart. Three months later we were still waiting for parts to arrive and gave up and bought a new faucet. Doug told me, "I made you happy by buying you a new faucet so I think I'll wait 3 more months and make you happy again by finally putting it in." A joke was being made by my sweet husband, but reality is he wasn't putting it in this week. Russell is waiting to test to become an official plumber after countless hours as working as a tech. He walked into my kitchen and without hesitation began putting my new faucet in without even being asked...LOVE HIM:)

Easter Celebration at Church

The week before Easter Hillcrest Baptist Church in Cedar Hill celebrated with an

Egg-Stravaganza. It was lunch and an Easter egg hunt with 3,000 eggs. Doug and I spent the morning helping our friend the children's minister prepare for the event. Doug was put in charge of guarding the hidden eggs since some neighborhood kids decided to help themselves to the treats the year before and I stood in a broom closet blowing up 200 balloons and decorating tables. My hands had sores when I was finished, but who is complaining...it was totally worth it:) After lunch all the kids were divided up by age and taken to different parts of the church's yard to hunt so that no one got hurt. All three boys had a blast!
