The Twins Actual Birthday Day

We have been celebrating the twins for just about a week now and it is finally their birthday day. We had the opportunity to watch cousin Jax at the last minute because Grandma Jackson had a funeral to attend. The boys had their check-up with our family doctor first thing that morning. I told the twins this was their day to act like "Big Boys" because we had to show Jax how to behave...they actually did pretty well. Jax wasn't to sure when the doctor came in the room so he climbed up in my lap and stayed put. As soon as Dr. Moreland left Jax hopped down and with a big wave yelled "Bye Bye"...it was pretty funny.

Preston playing games on my I-phone waiting on the doc.
After the doctor's visit (no shots...yippee) we loaded up and left for Waxahachie for the BIG surprise. At their birthday party lots of friends gave them money in order to buy something special...Nintendo DSs. The boys didn't know that they just thought they were "Rich"...quote from Grant. When we got to Gamestop and I told them what was happening they were beside themselves. They had enough money to get 2 used DSs and 1 game a piece. They negotiated out which games to select and then patiently waited for the cashier to handle our purchase. Jax was right there in the middle of everything:)

Next stop was lunch at Chick-fil-a. Their buddies gave them gift cards for their birthday so we celebrated there for lunch. They quickly ate their nuggets so they had time to play before going home to take naps.

We finished off the night going to Preston's and mom's favorite place...On The Border for Pres' chips and dip. The boys entertained themselves at the dinner table playing their new games and telling us over and over that they were big boys now.
Brotherly Love

My Boys

At home we gave the boys their presents from us before going to bed. They got 2 small packs of Legos...their new favorite toy, baseball t-shirts, dinosaur castle, and a green bounty hunter (request from Grant)
They were thrilled!

Love Grant's expressions:)

Boys...I can't believe you and I both have survived 5 years together. I thought it would take forever for you to become this old and it seems as though you were just born yesterday. I know that I am going to blink my eyes and you will be out of the house. Just thinking about it makes me teary-eyed. You both are so amazing. Grant you may be older, but Preston is 2 1/2 inches taller and weighs the same. You are both precious in so many ways. Preston you are precious, loving, and such a nurturing little brother. Grant you are Mr. independent and a little bossy to your little brother, but you mean well...sometimes I think it is because your voice only has one level...LOUD. You are both smart in your own little way. Preston you are finally willing to learn your alphabet and numbers just in time for school. You love to read and will do pretty much whatever your told as soon as your told. Grant...I pray for your teacher and you now:) You are just to busy to worry about learning. You want to play and build things...you are a very hands on little boy. You unplugged the Wii from one TV this year and plugged it into a different TV and it was RIGHT...what 4 year old does that? I can't wait to celebrate another year of life with my sweet little boys!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANT & PRESTON
