Super Outrageous Science Day...SOS Day

SOS Day is the Friday of Science week. Every class of every grade hosts a different science experiment appropriate for that grade level. All the classes rotate thru their grade and see lots of fun stuff. The kids were told to dress up like mad scientists. Our family decided that they didn't really want to play dress-up because that wasn't "cool" but instead wanted to spray their hair red so that it looked like it caught fire while doing an experiment. It was a stretch but they had fun with it!

Preston sitting in class waiting for instructions.
Preston's teacher had the classes taste many things made from corn...popcorn, corn flakes, corn chips, and canned corn.
The kids then got to go to the board and vote for their favorite corn product. Preston voted for corn chips. Notice his nerdy dress also included mismatched socks with rolled up jeans:)

Grant and his buddy, Jackson listening to instructions.

Grant taste testing all the corn products.

One of Connor's experiments was finger printing onto a balloon that wasn't blown up and then they blew it up and looked to see what their fingerprint looked like. They looked to see if they had whirls or loops and then stood in groups according to their prints.

In one of the Kinder classes they made popcorn turkeys.
What a fun day!
