The boys have all left me at home alone...so what is a girl to do? I told Doug it was time to adopt a little girl or a dog...so we got the dog:) I had been researching for a couple of weeks trying to figure out what kind of dog I wanted. My requirements were a small dog that could be inside and out, minimal hair loss, and CUTE! I shopped around online at all the rescue sites and realized that we weren't going to save money by rescuing a dog so we ended up checking out a listing on dallasnews.com. We drove all the way to Kilgore one Saturday evening to look at some cocker spaniel puppies and picked out Harley. The boys all fell in love with this little black bundle of joy. She melted their hearts and I think Doug's too. On the way home we looked up names online and narrowed it down to "Gracie" or "Harley." I decided that since Doug was willing to get the dog that we might should go with the name he suggested to accommodate him. Harley has adjusted well to our family's lifestyle. She learned her name very fast and is doing pretty well at potty training. Since the boys have started school she spends a lot of time outside during the day running around and playing with the big dogs, but as soon as the kids are home from school she comes inside and entertains them. She loves to snuggle and last night spent the night in our bed (shhh...don't tell the boys). The plan is for her to sleep with Grant once we totally trust her bladder:)
